To start, thank you to EVERYONE who helped us pack, clean, sent us gifts, brought us food, and encouraged and prayed for us leading up to our move. Within a month, we paired all our belongings down to fit inside a 5x8 trailer which followed us to Minnesota. The emotional drain of the entire process was more than we expected, but He planted so many small encouragements along the way and got us safely to Worthington without any issues.
Kayla’s parents bravely drove our 1992 pickup truck without AC to Worthington with our remaining belongings, and we all continued on to Indiana for a week to celebrate our dear friend’s wedding. It was a sweet and full week to fellowship with friends and family and be unplugged from packing and sorting.
After 2 weeks of travel, we came back to Worthington and settled in to the basement of a generous couple who are a part of Proclaim Aviation. They have graciously opened up their home to us for nearly 2 months as we prepare to move into our “longer term” housing which will open up at the beginning of August.
Following the wedding, we have spend the majority of our time learning the layout of the area, visiting churches, obtaining furniture, and trying to entertain a VERY busy toddler! We have been so thankful for the beautiful parks in town where Theo can burn off some steam and get his wiggles out from our 2 weeks of driving.
We have felt so welcomed and loved on by the community and church here. We are so grateful for the reminder that the body of Christ spans time and space. This has been one of the more challenging seasons in our lives, but we are seeing God’s faithfulness is many new ways as we settle into a more unfamiliar place.
We are expectant of what the next season will hold and look forward to seeing God’s continual guiding hand. Prayer is so very appreciated as our hearts are longing for relationships and deeply miss our Spokane community.
Zach will begin working full time with Proclaim July 6th with his duties spanning a wide variety of tasks. In addition to gaining experience in larger aircraft, he will also be taking on 1-2 students in the flight school, working in the maintenance shop, and helping develop Proclaim’s program through multi-engine training. The goal is to expand Proclaim’s curriculum and procedures so that other mission agencies can utilize what the program has to offer in training and experience to build the skillset of their pilots and mechanics.
Prayer Requests:
For Theo’s heart as he has had a difficult transition the last month and has been uncharacteristically acting out quite often.
For Kayla’s heart and mind transitioning to an unfamiliar place and navigating toddler life with Zach back to work full time.
For Zach as he begins work to grow in confidence and skill as he jumps into his new role with Proclaim.
